Pharmacological properties

Cyflunit is a synthetic pyretroid insecticide. Cyfluthrin provides a contact insecticidal and repellent action against dipterous insects including:

  • Haematobia irritans
  • Haematobia stimulans
  • Musca autumnalis
  • Stomoxys calcitrans
  • Tabanidae
  • Hypodermatidae
  • Culicidae
  • Simuliidae

Indications

Cyflunit is used in cattle to prevent carnivorous flies, gadflies, botflies, mosquitoes, and black flies during grazing season.

Dosage and method of administration
Treatment of cattle shall be performed by a veterinarian, a veterinarian technician, or specially trained personnel under the veterinarian supervision.
The dispenser shall be screwed onto the flask. With the help of the dispenser, a person performing treatment shall apply Cyflunit to the animal back while moving along the vertebrae column from the withers to the edgebone at a dose of 10 ml per animal (which corresponds to three full actuations of the dispenser filled with the drug). Animals shall be treated during grazing period once in 4-6 weeks. Lactating cows shall be treated right after milking operations. For animals weighing less than 300 kg, the drug is applied in a dose of 1 ml for every 50 kg of animal body weight to the skin of the back along the spine from the withers to the sacrum.

Restrictions

Contraindications and special instructions:
The drug should not be applied to wet, damaged and dirty skin.
It can be used in pregnant animals. Dairy cows should be treated immediately after milking.
It should not be used simultaneously with other insecticidal drugs.
